Let’s be honest—golf looks smooth on the outside, but inside the ropes, the game can be downright punishing.
Whether you're a scratch golfer or a Sunday regular, injuries are the uninvited guests that sneak in and stay too long. And yet, no one at the 19th hole is really talking about them.
But it's time we change that.

From the outside, golf doesn’t scream "physical sport." But any real golfer knows—18 holes under the sun, with repetitive swings, tension-filled grips, and a drive for perfection—can leave the body wrecked.
Here’s a quick snapshot of what hurts the most and why it happens:

Ever felt a sudden jolt mid-swing that lingers for days?
Wrist injuries are common due to impact shock, especially from hitting fat shots or practice mats. Over time, this leads to tendonitis or even ligament tears.

The most notorious injury in golf.
The torque generated during the downswing compresses the lumbar spine, especially in players with poor posture or weak core strength. The result? Stiffness, soreness, or even chronic pain.
Quick Test: Can you touch your toes without bending your knees? If not, your hamstrings may be pulling on your lower back during the swing.
We get it—no one wants to slice it OB. But gripping the club like you’re wrestling a python strains your forearms and tendons. Repetition leads to inflammation, especially in the inner elbow.
Your shoulders bear the load of flexibility and force. Improper warm-ups or sudden swing changes can lead to micro-tears or impingement—especially in your lead shoulder.
Here’s the curveball: Not all pain is physical.

Mental fatigue—from long tournaments, high-pressure rounds, or even over-practice—can lead to decision fatigue, poor concentration, and burnout.
