Golfer Pranavi Urs kicked off her quest for a Ladies European Tour (LET) card with an impressive bogey-free round, carding a four-under 68 to claim a two-shot lead in the opening round of the three-round Pre-Qualifier – Asia, held in Gurugram.

Tvesa Malik, aiming to reclaim her LET status, and Durga Nittur, seeking her first Tour entry, posted matching two-under 70s. Only Neha Tripathi (71) joined them in being under par.

Nittur made a strong finish with four birdies in the last five holes, securing gains on the 14th, 15th, 17th, and 18th.

Amateur favorite Avani Prashanth was among the five players carding even par 72, alongside Ananya Datar, Ridhima Dilawari, Seher Atwal, and Singapore’s Sock Hwee Koh.

The tournament features 29 players vying for a spot in the LET Q-School Final Stage, with the top 8 and ties set to progress.

Urs, a dominant force in the 2022 Hero Women’s Pro Golf Tour, split her time in 2023 between the Epson Tour in the US and LET in Europe, now eyeing entry into the LET.

Nittur, despite a challenging start, showcased resilience on the back nine, finishing two-under with four birdies in the last four holes.

Prashanth, a 16-year-old amateur, expressed disappointment with her start, citing issues on the greens. Her round featured four birdies and four bogeys.

While this marks the first pre-qualifier, a second one is scheduled at Golf Club Rotana and Samanah Golf from December 10-12. The demanding 90-hole Qualifying School Final Stage is set for December 16-20 at Al Maadan Golf Marrakech & Royal Club de Marrakech.
