PGTI vs IGPL – Is Indian Golf Headed for a Civil War?

Kapil Dev vs Yuvraj Singh
Legacy vs Disruption
PGTI vs IGPL

What we are witnessing is not just a shift — it is a shockwave in Indian golf.

The newly launched IGPL has thrown down the gauntlet. Over 30 top PGTI players have reportedly been offered contracts worth 20 to 40 lakh rupees per year, plus 1 to 2 percent equity in the league. Some of them have already been banned by PGTI in response.

But here is where it gets even more intense:

Top IGPL players are now eligible to qualify for the Asian Tour — a serious boost to the league's credibility.

Women's golf sees a bold leap — while WGAI winners typically earn around 1.3 lakh rupees, even the last-placed woman in IGPL will earn 2 lakh rupees.

And at the heart of it all: Yuvraj Singh is the face of IGPL, while Kapil Dev stands firmly behind PGTI. Two legends. Two visions. One sport.

So now the real question is…

Is this a LIV Golf-style revolution in India — or a dangerous split that could damage the game?

Are these contracts and equity deals truly beneficial for players — or just glitter without substance?

With Asian Tour affiliation now linked to IGPL, will more players defect from PGTI?

Has IGPL done more for women’s golf in one move than others have in years?

Can PGTI survive this onslaught — or will it reinvent itself under pressure?

What is your take?

Are we watching the future of Indian golf unfold — or the beginning of a messy turf war?
